Check the Coca-Cola stash in your fridge and your pantry.
If you recently purchased some Coca-Cola products, you’ll want to double-check them before consuming. Coca-Cola has issued a recall for three varieties of its soda. This recall comes after the discovery of metal fragments in some of the affected cans. Here’s what we know so far.
What caused the Coca-Cola recall?
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Coca-Cola discovered the presence or potential presence of small metal fragments inside some of the cans. Metal pieces in a beverage container could pose a choking hazard or lead to mouth, throat or gastrointestinal injuries if consumed.
Because of this potential risk, this has been classified as a Class II recall. This indicates a situation in which consumption of a recalled product may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences, and the probability of serious health consequences is remote. No injuries or illnesses have been reported so far.
What stores sold the recalled Coca-Cola products?
The products were distributed to retailers and convenience stores only in Texas. No other distribution regions are included in this recall.
