It’s hard to believe it’s been more than five years since Stanley cups first took over the internet. After the release of the iconic Stanley Quencher, #WaterTok went wild, and the large-and-in-charge tumbler quickly became everyone’s must-have accessory.
With new collections and collabs launching almost daily, Stanleys remain trendy—thanks in part to their signature double-walled insulation that keeps hot drinks hot and iced drinks cold for hours (sometimes even days) at a time.
One of the brand’s more recent innovations, Stanley Create, lets you personalize your tumbler. We ordered our own monogrammed ProTour Quencher to test it out—here’s how to customize your Stanley and what to expect.
MARY HENN FOR TASTE OF HOME
Custom Stanley
Add your own touch to your favorite Stanley cup with a name, monogram, graphic and more.
What is a custom Stanley cup?
The Stanley Create Collection includes a variety of tumblers, cups and water bottles in a range of colors, all ready for your personal touch. After selecting a product from the collection, simply click the “Customize” button to add text, graphics, monograms and more.
What does this mean? Stanley cups become even more giftable. Add a recipient’s initials, a favorite lyric or a short phrase to make it one of a kind. Customization costs only $10 to $12, making it an affordable option for both gifting and personal use.
We love that the personalization is available across multiple styles, from the cult-favorite Stanley Quencher to the editor-reviewed Legendary bottle and beyond. Plus, if you bring your Stanley to the gym or the office, your personalized design makes it easy to spot. Goodbye, bottle mix-ups!
How We Tested
MARY HENN FOR TASTE OF HOME
We’ve tested countless Stanley products at Taste of Home, and our team can confirm—it’s not just hype. These tumblers truly stand up to the wear and tear of everyday life. After trying dozens of cups, accessories and coffee gear, our editors have developed quite a few Stanley favorites.
If you’ve ever used a Stanley cup, you already know that the double-wall insulation doesn’t lie. Cold drinks stay icy fresh on the hottest days, and coffee remains piping hot through a frosty morning commute.
For this review, though, we’re zeroing in on what it’s like to buy a custom Stanley. To test it out, I ordered a monogrammed Stanley Quencher ProTour Tumbler.
Using the customization tools on Stanley’s site is straightforward. SeveralTikTok-famousproducts from Stanley are available for customization (though there isn’t an option for customcoolers just yet).
After selecting a product, you’ll find the “Customize” button on its page. From there, you can explore a variety of graphics, fonts and monogram styles—or even upload your own image. The possibilities are virtually endless. Imagine a coffee thermos with a cactus design or a bottle engraved with your favorite Taylor Swift lyric. Swoon.

Once your design is complete, simply add it to your cart and proceed with checkout as usual. Shipping for custom orders typically takes two to three weeks, and personalized products are nonreturnable and nonrefundable. However, my order arrived in just five days, which I thought was pretty impressive.
The monogrammed tumbler itself looked fantastic. It was sleeker and more polished in person than I expected. The person I gifted it to was thrilled and couldn’t wait to show it off at the office.
My only complaint? Two slight smudges are visible next to the engraving, only discernible under certain lighting. It’s a tiny flaw, and not enough to detract from the overall experience, but it’s worth mentioning for quality control purposes. Otherwise, the custom Stanley experience was as easy, stylish and well-done as the brand’s reputation promises.

Product Comparison: Stanley vs. Yeti
Stanley and Yeti have a lot in common. Both brands offer a wide range of top-notch coolers, water bottles, tumblers and more. Stanley has been around since 1913, while Yeti, founded in 2006, is the newer kid on the block.
When it comes to customization, both brands perform well. Each offers the ability to add monograms, upload images, engrave text and choose from a gallery of graphics to make your tumbler uniquely yours.
That said, there are some differences. Yeti offers a broader selection of fonts, monogram styles, and graphics, while Stanley allows you to combine text and images within a single design. Yeti also features an AI-powered design tool that generates a design based on your prompts, though it can be a bit hit or miss. For example, we found it produced different results for the prompts “a Christmas image with the letter M” versus “a subtle Christmas image with the letter M.”
Final Verdict
MARY HENN FOR TASTE OF HOME
It’s no secret that Stanley cups make excellent gifts, especially for those who spend long hours on their feet and need to stay hydrated. We’re looking at you, nurses and teachers!
If you’re in a pinch this holiday season and need a personalized, practical gift that ships fast, Stanley’s customization service is a great pick. We were impressed by both the affordable price point and the quick delivery time.
While our black custom tumbler showed a bit of light streaking—likely from the engraving process—it was a minor flaw in an otherwise smooth experience. Overall, the Stanley Create process makes gifting a classic tumbler feel extra thoughtful and one-of-a-kind.

Custom Stanley
Customize your own Stanley cup this holiday season—whether it’s a treat for yourself or the perfect gift for someone you love.
Stanley Create is available right on the brand’s website. Custom options tack an extra $10 to $12 onto the product’s price, but we think that the cost is a total bargain for a custom Stanley cup.
