As a spooky gal, Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. Over the years, I’ve collected so much spine-chilling decor that I could probably open my own Spirit Halloween, so believe me when I say I’ve seen it all. Even the most ghoulish ephemera barely makes me bat an eye these days. But this year, I finally found the perfect accent to any ghastly October get-together: glow-in-the-dark flowers. Yes, really!
With these remarkable roses, anyone can transform a basic room into a macabre mansion fit for frightening celebrations! From the moment I first saw these boo-tiful bouquets, I had to know whether they could actually achieve such a fun, unearthly glow. Here’s my experience receiving and displaying this spooky (yet stunning) bouquet from Bouqs.
This eerie bouquet brings a boo-tiful brilliance to late night dinners and dreadful get-togethers.
Bouqs released these glow-in-the-dark roses as part of their 2025 Halloween bouquet lineup. Like the other flowers available in this collection, this frightful assortment is the perfect companion to an array of autumnal decor. While their other spooky bouquets boast blood red hues, fall themes and pumpkin orange accents, this bundle of unassuming white roses looks completely normal—until the lights go out.
The dye used on the roses is invisible to the naked eye, but in the dark, it supposedly casts a ghastly green glow. There are even petals printed with grinning pumpkins for added wow-factor! Simply “charge” them in light for 15 minutes, then display them in the dark for a supernatural glowing effect. If it works, this offbeat bouquet can bring so much magic to spooky season!
We already tried Bouqs Co. as part of our tests for the best flower subscriptions. In fact, they beat the competition as our favorite online florist overall! Given this, my hopes were high for these fun blooms. While I was a little skeptical, I hoped that they could deliver on their promise. After all, how cool would it be to display a bundle of beautiful glow-in-the-dark roses at my next Halloween shindig?

Despite the unseasonably high temperatures in Michigan, the rose buds roses arrived in excellent condition. I received the deluxe size, which contains 24 roses. They’re shipped together in two 12-rose groupings to ensure damage-free delivery. The flowers come with a booklet, plant food and a QR code with instructions on setting up the bouquet. It also offers tips on cutting the rose stems, stripping any leaves below the water line and arranging them in the included vase.
I cut the stems and assembled the bouquet as instructed. After a little arranging, my white roses looked almost entirely normal, albeit with a slightly strange smell (I assume from the glowing dye used). That said, the smell isn’t unpleasant, and after a few hours of sitting out, it seemed to dissipate. The buds arrived ever so slightly closed, which quickly changed after a few hours in water.
One the buds opened a bit, I began “charging” the roses as instructed. The directions call for at least 15 minutes of direct light, preferably from the sun. They also instructed me to rotate the bouquet to ensure even charging. I put the bouquet out on my porch in direct sunlight, ensuring that all the roses had contact with sunbeams. Then, I set my timer for 15 minutes.

I could hardly wait to see the promised ghastly glow! With a lot of excitement (and maybe a touch of skepticism), I brought the roses into the darkest room of my house: my bathroom. I then flipped off the lights.
The second the room became dark, I audibly gasped. My pretty, unassuming bouquet of white roses became an otherworldly assortment of mysterious foliage. The roses really glow—and it’s a ghoulish sight indeed! The result is a boo-tiful display fit for ghosts and goblins of all ages.
I hunted through the petals to find one of the promised printed pumpkins. Upon locating a tiny grinning gourd on one of the outermost petals, I was immediately sold on this bouquet. Because I don’t expect these to last several weeks until Halloween, I plan on placing an order closer to the date so I can distribute them to neighbors and friends. They’re simply too fun to keep to myself!
From the damage-free delivery to the delightful glowing effect, these glow-in-the-dark flowers make up one of the most wonderfully unique Halloween experiences I’ve ever had. The glowing effect lasts for a good 40 minutes or so, depending on the type of light used to charge them and how long they charge.
While the dye is nontoxic, it is worth noting that Bouqs recommends stashing them away from pets. I displayed mine in my office—they bring a beautiful, eerie effect that really embodies the spirit of the season.
Send this ghastly boo-quet to your favorite Halloween fan for a frighteningly fun gift!
