Yes, I live in Wisconsin—where winter temperatures often dip well below freezing. And yes, I still eat ice cream year-round.

Jeni’s ice cream is a particular favorite, thanks to the brand’s high-quality ingredients and out-of-the-box flavors. (ICYMI: The Watermelon Taffy pint is exceptional…and I may or may not have three pints squirreled away in my freezer.)

Still, now that the weather has taken a turn and the holiday buzz is in full swing, I’ve been craving something a bit more festive. Enter: Jeni’s Splendid Holiday Collection. This new launch includes an array of Christmas-y flavors featuring beloved holiday classics like panettone, eggnog and dulce de leche.

I tried six pints to find the one yule want to scoop all season long.

What are the 2025 Jeni’s holiday ice cream flavors?

A box with red and green diagonal stripes and the word "Jeni's" written in white cursive sits on a wooden table in front of a window with a view of trees. An "up" arrow is printed in the top right corner of the box.

The Splendid Holiday Collection leans into all of the cozy Christmas vibes, with a few surprising twists. You’ll find:

I also got a pint of the Miso Butterscotch Brownie, which is part of Jeni’s fall lineup. Each pint is available for individual purchase or as part of select ice cream collections.

How We Tested

Nine scoops of ice cream on a wooden surface, each paired with a Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams container lid. Flavors include Dulce de Leche, Lemon, Dark Chocolate, Boozy Eggnog, White Chocolate Peppermint, and more.

Now, I went into this test armed with a spoon, an ice cream-loving coworker and high expectations. After all, Jeni’s has introduced me to many surprising yet all-around delicious flavors, and I was hoping for another win.

We started by opening up all six pints and setting aside any pre-conceived notions. I’m not the biggest peppermint fan, while fellow tester, Gina Burke, isn’t part of #TeamPistachio.

First up? One of the simpler flavors: Dulce de Leche. This beauty features a gooey caramel swirled into sweetened condensed milk ice cream. We both loved the thick caramel ribbon but thought it could use a hint more salt to offset the sweetness. Still, a very solid start.

Next, we tried the Miso Butterscotch Brownie. The miso brings a savory umami flavor unlike any ice cream I’ve tried before. That said, between the miso, toasted sugar and brownies, it has a lot going on. It’s an acquired taste we didn’t particularly love, especially for the holiday season.

Pistachio Macaron was up next. This flavor distinguishes itself from other pistachio ice creams with its “nougat-like honey texture” and a pop of almond extract. (It also isn’t loaded with fake green food dyes.) I immediately loved this one for its nutty, salty finish and bright pistachio flavor. It’s not cloyingly sweet, either.

Next, we moved on to Cranberry Panettone with Chocolate Sprinkles. As someone who lives for cranberry season, this was the flavor I was most excited to try. It offers “Brioche-scented custard with cranberry-orange jam and chocolate sprinkles.” While delicious, we found the flavors slightly at odds with one another. Across the board, we wanted more cranberry swirl and fewer sprinkles.

Mint chip may just be the most polarizing ice cream flavor. And while I wouldn’t typically reach for it, the White Chocolate Peppermint is a worthy contender. It’s bright and classic, while the pink swirl offers a fun contrast to the typical green mint. It’s a quintessential holiday flavor that we want to enjoy atop a fudgy chocolate brownie.

Finally, Boozy Eggnog. This custardy flavor is spiked with Uncle Nearest Whiskey, which adds a slight bite but doesn’t overpower the whole pint. (If you’re wondering: All the actual alcohol cooks off, making this a 0% ABV treat, too.) I could have gone for a touch more spice, and Gina found it reminiscent of a Tom and Jerry cocktail.

My Favorite Flavor

Drumroll, please! While you really can’t go wrong with any flavors from the Jeni’s Splendid Holiday Collection, there’s one flavor I’ll be ordering again: Pistachio Macaron.

This flavor really does have it all: sweet, salty, and nutty. Plus, it has an unforgettable texture that captures the chewiness of a macaron. The slight almond finish complements all the other ingredients without being overpowering. I also appreciate the natural hue of this flavor instead of the bright neon green often associated with pistachio ice creams.

Gina, who admittedly isn’t a huge pistachio fan, found this flavor surprisingly easy (and enjoyable!) to eat. “It goes down really easily,” Gina says. “And I find I can eat more than just a few bites, which is a perk! It’s not overwhelming or too heavy.”

Where to Buy
