It seems like Josh O’Connor is everywhere you look right now. He recently hosted Saturday Night Live, and he’s also starring in Wake Up Dead Man, the newest Knives Out movie that’s available on Netflix now. Earlier this year, he starred opposite Paul Mescal in The History of Sound, and in 2026, he’ll be in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day.

For an actor who keeps this busy, it’s no wonder he’s also been doing a lot of traveling to different film sets around the world in recent years. One of those work trips landed the Southampton, U.K.-born star in the heart of Colorado and turned him on to some new cuisine—all experienced through a drive-thru.

In a video clip shared last month by the publisher Brit + Co, Josh shared that American fast food is “his biggest passion” and revealed the two unexpected chains that represent his new favorite fast-food discoveries.

What is Josh O’Connor’s current favorite fast food?

In the interview, Josh shared that he had recently been filming a movie in the San Luis Valley region of Colorado. Between shoots, he discovered his love for two very Midwest-coded favorites.

First, Josh expressed his new fandom of the Illinois-based sandwich chain Jimmy John’s. Next, he said he also loved trying the food at Ohio-headquartered Skyline Chili, which is best-known for its divisive Cincinnati chili served over spaghetti.

“Skyline Chili—it’s terrific!” Josh told the interviewer.

This isn’t the first time Josh has shared his exuberance for all things American fast food either. In a 2024 interview with the Wall Street Journal, he identified the pancake chain IHOP as “the one American thing” he’s come to love.

“Some of the greatest culinary experiences in my life have been at IHOP,” Josh said, before admitting that he originally mistook the diner for “a bank or an insurance company.”

“I had eggs and potato hash and French toast with blueberries,” the star revealed. “I’ve never had anything else. I go for the same order every time.”
