Just in time for peak snacking season, the iconic candy brand just unleashed M&M's POP'd, its most innovative variety yet.
You really have to hand it to the hard-working folks at M&M’s. The quintessential American candy has been around for over 80 years, but somehow the wizards at their labs are still consistently coming up with new varieties that keep us on our toes all these decades later.
The latest innovation from M&M’s, though, might surpass all of its recent permutations. The company just announced the launch of M&M’s POP’d Caramel, its first-ever freeze-dried M&M’s candy offering—and we got an early taste of it!
What is the new M&M’s candy?
The new POP’d Caramel addition to the M&M’s lineup consists of a traditional M&M that has been popped open and filled with a layer of caramel as well as an unusual freeze-dried component. The brand describes it as “an unexpectedly light, crispy, and crunchy new texture—unlike anything M&M’s has done before.”
How do the M&M’s POP’d taste?
The new freeze-dried M&M’s candy is addictively delicious, I must admit. Of course, you get the familiar candy chocolate coating that any M&M must include, as well as the sweet, chewy sensation of caramel.
What makes the M&M’s POP’d unique, though, is the freeze-dried element in the middle. It has a malt-like flavor that reminded me of Whoppers. Living up to the company announcement, the texture is difficult to describe beyond saying that it’s truly hard to stop noshing on them once you open the bag.
These have shot to the top of my personal M&M’s ranking, up there with my all-time favorite Peanut Butter M&M’s.
Where can I find M&M’s POP’d?
M&M’s POP’d Caramel will first launch, while supplies last, on TikTok Shop starting on Friday, November 3. Next, starting on Tuesday, November 11, they’ll be available on MMS.com and at M&M’s Stores. Finally, the candy will be on shelves at retailers nationwide beginning in January 2026.
