At this point, Girl Scout cookies may as well be synonymous with the word delicious. Talk to anybody about Girl Scout cookies, and you know they have a favorite lined up. Mine happen to be Do-Si-Dos, also known as Peanut Butter Sandwiches. And while they’re not everyone’s idea of the best Girl Scout cookies, I still love them all the same. Trust me, they go so well dunked in a glass of milk.

Now, over the years, we’ve seen Girl Scout cookies evolve. Some have been discontinued for a while, and others, like the S’mores and Toast-Yay! cookies left us just this past year. Gone, but never forgotten. So what takes their place then? The Girl Scouts are always looking for their next new incredible cookie, and their latest flavor foray is already on the horizon. Luckily, I got an early taste. Buckle up—we’re going on a very tasty trip.

What is the new Girl Scout cookie?

They’re called Exploremores, and they are as delicious as they are intriguing. I’m a big, big fan of a classic sandwich cookie. Like I said before, my favorite Girl Scout cookies of all time are Peanut Butter Sandwiches. Anyway, these new sandwich cookies are inspired by rocky road ice cream with all the fixins: chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond. They were created to highlight the sense of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout.

How does the new Girl Scout cookie taste?

Honestly, pretty close to the real thing. While rocky road was never too high on my list of favorite ice cream flavors, this cookie is making me do a double take. The two outside sandwich cookies are thick and riddled with rich chocolate flavor. The middle was a mix of marshmallow and almond creme. The chocolate cookies weren’t overtly sweet or overwhelming to the other flavors. In fact, the cookies were quite almond-forward. Sometimes sweets can get a bit too sweet for my liking, but the Exploremores were a fantastic middle ground.

My one slight disappointment was the lack of marshmallow flavor. It was present under the layers of almond, but I wanted more! I’m a massive marshmallow lover (I’ll miss you, S’mores cookies), and so anytime marshmallow is mentioned, I’m usually all in. Maybe I’ll just have to snack through a few more boxes to get my fill.

When can I get the new Girl Scout cookie flavor?

Exploremores will officially be part of the 2026 Girl Scout cookie lineup with boxes available both in-person at local booths and online. I know cookie season may seem far away, but don’t worry. You’ll be munchin’ on these delectable desserts in no time!
