Pop-Tarts Is Dropping a Protein Line that Mimics Its Original Flavors
Pop-Tarts may have been around since 1964, but whenever they come to mind, I can’t help but consider them a ’90s kid classic. Everyone had an opinion on Pop-Tarts (and the off-brand counterparts) growing up and for good reasons. They’re absolutely delicious, they’re easy to grab, and they’re fun to eat. Pop-Tarts are iconic. They’re even mentioned by name in Toy Story. That’s a big deal.
All us kids grew up, though, and we’ve got new goals to hit. Some of those goals include protein, which is why I’m so stoked about the new Pop-Tarts Protein pastries for mornings on the go.
What is the new Pop-Tarts protein line?

Our current era is fitness-forward and filled with healthy (and healthy-adjacent) nutrition options. And while I know Pop-Tarts don’t typically come to mind when you think healthy, it’s important to lead a balanced life. You need to allow yourself to enjoy what you want to enjoy, and you know what? I want to enjoy Pop-Tarts of all kinds, whether it’s in the form of Pop-Tarts Ice Cream sandwiches or protein pastries.
To kick off its new line, Pop-Tarts is protein-ifying three of its most classic flavors:
- Pop-Tarts Protein Slammin’ Strawberry
- Pop-Tarts Protein Boostin’ Brown Sugar Cinnamon
- Pop-Tarts Protein Bumpin’ Blueberry
All three beloved flavors feature the frosting, sprinkles and filling you love with 10 grams of protein per serving, or 5 grams of protein per pastry. It’s a digestible amount of protein for a quick snack or a morning on-the-go. Makes me want to try and pump up the protein when I make homemade Pop-Tarts.
