Rice Recall: Various Types of Rice Recalled Due to Presence of Small Stones
If you made a grocery run recently, you might want to check your pantry. Ben’s Original has recalled several of its Ready Rice products due to the possible presence of naturally occurring stones. Here’s everything we know so far.
What caused the recall?
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), small stones may have ended up in a limited number of packages during processing. These stones originated at the rice farm. They could cause injury if accidentally consumed, although no injuries have been reported so far.
What stores sold the recalled rice?
The recalled Ready Rice items were shipped to retailers nationwide via distributors. They were sold through Amazon as well as at H-E-B, Piggly Wiggly, Target, United Market and others. Consumers are advised to check the packaging regardless of where the product was purchased.
