Experience

Perry is a Colorado-based journalist, recipe developer, tester and photographer with 15 years of experience in food media. She started out developing healthy recipes for the workout website Daily Burn, considering macronutrients and nutritional information to create dishes that adhere to specific meal plans. After a year, she shifted her focus during her time as Thrillist’s first-ever recipes editor, where she created viral, gut-busting recipes such as Cheetos chicken fingers and spaghetti-stuffed meatballs. Next, Perry was hired as a content manager at Consumer Reports, where she wrote the most-viewed story in the website's history and helped develop a toolkit to attract a younger, more diverse audience.

These days, Perry does everything all at once, spanning writing, recipe development, testing and photography in a freelance capacity for publications like The Kitchn, Serious Eats, Good Housekeeping, Food & Wine, EatingWell and Good Housekeeping.
