“Made of 100% fuzzy polyester, this throw is ultra-plush and soft to the touch,” says Shopping Editor Mary Henn. “It’s a medium-sized, lightweight blanket that feels cozy without being too heavy. It traps warmth well, though those who love a bit of heft might find it a little too light.”
Thanks to its compact size and low weight, it also makes a great travel blanket. It’s easy to toss in a tote or keep in the car for chilly flights or road trips.

We first tested the Cozy Earth Cuddle Blanket in 2023, and this year, we’re giving it another go to see if it’s still as soft and dreamy as we remember.
Deputy Editor Katie Bandurski recently snagged the large faux fur throw and was floored by how soft the fabric was. “I joked to my husband that it felt like chinchilla fur,” she says. “As someone who lives in Wisconsin, there are times in the winter when I would do anything to keep warm. This oh-so-soft blanket is weighty and warming without being smothering.”
The main drawback? Cleaning it. Cozy Earth recommends cold washing it alone and then line drying or air drying it without heat. “Unfortunately, I don’t see this blanket fitting in many home washing machines,” Katie says. “It weighs a ton dry, I can’t imagine how heavy it is when wet.”
However, when former Taste of Home editor Madi Koetting was gifted the Cozy Earth blanket in 2023, she noted that she ran hers through the washing machine and laid it out to dry with zero issues.
Still, we recommend treating it like Grandma’s heirloom quilt or a dry-clean-only comforter. In other words, keep it clean, and don’t toss it in the wash unless you absolutely have to.

After more than a year of consistent use, Emily is still obsessed. “The 300-thread count cover feels nice and soft against skin, while reinforced seams ensure that it’s built for endless evenings curled up on the couch. “Since my initial tests, I’ve washed this Cozy Earth throw about six times,” Caitlyn says. “The 100% viscose from bamboo material is strong, yet soft. The smooth texture is still there, and the fringe detailing looks like it did the day I got it.”

When the weather cools down, this Beautyrest heated blanket keeps things pleasantly toasty. Our testers were quite pleased by how quickly this blanket heated up. On the lowest setting, it reached 79.3 degrees in the corner and 85 degrees in the center. On the highest setting, it registered 81.5 degrees in the corner and 95.1 degrees in the center—nice and warm!
The only issue? “There is a foot of non-heated space around the entire perimeter of the throw,” explains product tester Dylan Fischer. “Because the actual heated portion doesn’t extend to the corners, we found ourselves bunching it up more, which occasionally leads to feet being exposed.”
That said, we love that this option offers a machine-washable construction and plush, velvety fabric. Additionally, with a plethora of fun shades, it complements almost any decor.
