From the packaging to the flavors, each and every detail makes this calendar feel luxe. The packaging itself is absolutely gorgeous and brought me joy day after day as I popped open each window. Each box unfolds into a three-sided scene. The interior print channels the calm of a hot cup of tea on a winter night—it’s genuinely gorgeous. Additionally, most of the windows include QR codes that link to audio stories on tea traditions and history, so you get a soothing daily experience as you sip your blends.
Each hand-stitched cotton tea bag is bursting with flavor. You won’t find boring black teas or basic green teas here! Instead, get ready to experience blends like Blue of London (a delightfully creamy Earl Grey), Big Ben (a flavorful blend of Yunnan & Assam black teas) and South African Detox (a yummy mix of rooibos, honeybush, and moringa with sweet African mango). After trying Blue of London, this Early Grey girlie placed an order for a full-sized tin. The teas are that good.
To top off the experience, the calendar includes a limited-edition blend called “Joie.” This 2025 seasonal exclusive comprises of organic Green tea, roasted buckwheat and almond. Despite the elevated feel, this tea advent calendar retails for only $40. I find that shockingly inexpensive for the quality—the teas from this brand are top tier in terms of ingredients!
The Vahdam tea Advent calendar brings loose-leaf teas sourced from Indian gardens to your cup. Sip on several different varieties of chai, including sweet cinnamon masala chai and vanilla spice chai, along with green teas and herbal tisanes to help you warm up, wind down and feel all cozy inside.
Instead of punch-out doors, each day’s delights come nestled in a darling drawer. While this one is a little pricier than others, it’s built with multiple sippers in mind, or those seeking a luxury tea experience that lasts for more than 24 days. Unlike other tea Advent calendars I’ve tried, each of the numbered drawers in this festive standalone calendar boasts five servings of a new blend each day. It’s a great option for either stocking up or sharing with others!
And, of course, the teas themselves are fresh and fragrant. I found myself excited to get out of bed each day, knowing that I had a little afternoon tea pick-me-up waiting for me. Many are spiced, herbal flavors, but there is also a smattering of fruity green teas, delicate white teas and dark, earthy black teas. Each inclusion feels thoughtful and offers a new experience each day. The tea wrappers include a brief description of the tea, brewing instructions, its caffeine content and what type of tea bag it is (which typically fall in the camp of either pyramid or long leaf). There are also little indicators on the wrappers to call out any organic blends.
The packaging is stunning, sturdy and made from thick paperboard—I could see myself refilling this for future Advent experiences. We also tested the folding Advent calendar from Vahdam, which contains the same blends. This one arrives with a single bag of each tea. It’s also more compact and hangs on the wall, making it ideal for small spaces. We recommend the smaller version for those on a budget—it’s available for just over $40.
There’s nothing better in the winter than curling up with a cup of tea. And this winter, you can give your favorite tea lover (or yourself) the gift of some seriously gourmet tea. The brews in this Tea Forté Advent calendar range from Blueberry Merlot to Chocolate Fondue, so you’re guaranteed a variety of choices that go beyond a basic spiced chai.
Inside the pretty pyramid-shaped box is a collection of 24 teas. Deputy Affiliate Editor Katie Bandurksi tested the caffeine-free Warming Joy Herbal calendar for 2025, but that’s not the only Tea Forté offering worth trying. She also tried the classic Warming Joy calendar in 2024 and absolutely loved it. You can also snag both calendars as a bundle. One note: the herbal Advent calendar contains trace amounts of caffeine in a few of the blends.
Upon unboxing this tea Advent calendar, Katie was impressed by the stunning simplicity of the countdown. It’s pretty enough to display in the kitchen, and she loves that the overall shape embodies the tea pyramids nestled inside. Plus, the tea offerings alone tell you it’s a high-quality calendar. Tea Forté’s gourmet flavors remind her of the teas served at a luxury spa.
“I look forward to this Advent calendar every year. It’s truly one of the most luxurious tea options on the market,” says Katie. “Yes, this calendar is pricey at $70. But it’s a gourmet way to try 24 flavors and experiment with what kinds of teas you like. Each tea is packed inside a pretty pyramid box and comes in a pyramid tea infuser with a little leaf at the tip for easy removal of the tea bag once it’s steeped. ”
You don’t have to splurge on a tea Advent calendar to enjoy a luxury experience. The Whittard tea Advent calendar is geared towards black tea fiends, boasting an assortment of 16 different flavors across 48 tea bags. Since it’s under $40, it’s easily one of the most affordable options we’ve tested. But don’t let that sway your opinion—this sampler is every bit as exciting as the other options on this list.
From the moment you open the box, it’s clear that the Whittard calendar channels a premium experience. It also offers a fun, space-saving layout I haven’t seen other tea Advent calendars attempt. Unlike other tea advents I tried, the slots are narrow and you pull out the tea from the top of the bag because they lay horizontally. It’s fairly clever and takes up much less space than similar calendars we’ve tested. As a bonus, all the doors contain two bags of each tea, making it fun to share!
The packaging isn’t the only aspect worthy of praise, either. This is some of the freshest, most luxurious tea I’ve had—not just in an Advent calendar, but ever. From the bold Chelsea breakfast tea to the spicy masala chai, each is equally delicious. Some of the more exciting blends include Piccadilly—a rose, strawberry and lotus black tea—and Ceylon Tea. Ceylon is an “Orange Pekoe” tea, presented as an unbroken whole leaf tea with long, wiry leaves.
While there are a few repeat days (most flavors appear twice), I actually rather enjoyed getting to taste each flavor a second, third or fourth time—especially the Chelsea tea, which was my favorite. For the modest price point of around $37, I don’t mind a few duplicates. And, if you don’t feel like sharing, four of each flavor is plenty of tea to get you through the new year!
Those seeking variety won’t be disappointed by the tea Advent calendar from Fortnum & Mason. While it’s on the pricier side, it offers a range of picks that span seasonal flavors, classic offerings and even a few herbal blends. And the familiar favorites aren’t your average one-note teas—even the included breakfast blend offers orange blossom essence for a unique flavor. Not only is it a great pick for folks seeking a truly diverse tea drinking experience, but it also comes in a beautiful package that makes it ideal for gifting.
“This tea Advent calendar is absolutely stunning, with its bright pink and teal design accented in gold,” says tester Mary Henn. “I love that each day unveils a new tea—some festive, some timeless favorites.” Some of Mary’s favorite finds include Rose Pouchong (Chinese black tea dried with rose petals), Countess Grey (a delicate brew enhanced with light citrus notes and vibrant dried marigold flowers) and Chamomile & Bee Pollen (a refreshing caffeine-free blend of exclusive Salisbury Plain honey, sweet bee pollen and mild English chamomile flowers).
“Each tea bag releases a beautiful aroma the instant it’s opened, a clear sign of its quality,” continues Mary. The brand also offers several tea varieties and gift boxes online, including the Christmas Tea Selections, which features some of the same varieties. That means most of the teas can be purchased separately if you discover any new favorites!
Make your winter mornings (or evenings) merry and bright with the festive Nutcracker calendar from Adiago. The brand is known for their quality, so you won’t find boring, stale blends here! Instead, choose from 24 days of bagged, loose leaf or decaf teas that are as fragrant and flavorful as they are memorable. I opted to try the decaf calendar (only available as loose leaf) and was incredibly impressed with the quality and variety.
I love that the decaf calendar doesn’t stick solely with your typical herbal or fruity options. Instead, there are several “dupes” of caffeinated teas, like a rooibos earl grey and a decaf version of the brand’s cinnamon chai. The flavors are also almost entirely holiday-centric, making this a fun pick for folks seeking a truly seasonal experience. And, better yet, there are no duplicates across the 24 days.
One of the best parts of this calendar is the price. Despite the elevated feel of the teas, all three calendars ring up at only $34. It’s an incredibly affordable option that’s equally good for gifting or enjoying yourself!
I was particularly fond of the yuletide toddy, white chocolate peppermint and nutcracker blends, though each inclusion was incredibly delicious and fresh. It’s worth noting that, while similar, the three calendars—decaf, loose leaf and bagged tea—all offer different inclusions, meaning that the flavor profile may vary for each. However, rest assured that no matter which you pick, you’ll be enjoying fresh, high-quality ingredients without gluten or dairy.
