Cast-Iron Pizza

A homemade cast-iron pizza with a chewy crust and crispy edges can be ready in less than 45 minutes. Get creative with toppings for your pizza in a cast-iron skillet, and you'll have dinner on the table in no time.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 recipe Basic Pizza Crust or 1 pound prepared pizza dough
  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Brush bottom and sides of a 12-in. cast iron skillet with melted butter. Press dough into pan. Top with pizza sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni.
  2. Bake on a lower oven rack until cheese and crust are puffed and golden brown, 30-35 minutes. If desired, top with grated Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper flakes.
