Beat them together until smooth.

Editor’s Tip: While you can beat this with a hand whisk, we suggest an electric mixer to get the dip nice and fluffy.

Step 2: Let it rest

A person scoops creamy dip into a small bowl with a spatula. Nearby, sliced green and red apples are arranged on a wooden board, and a larger mixing bowl sits to the side. All items rest on a wooden surface.

Transfer the dip to a serving bowl, and refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve. Serve the cinnamon dip with apple wedges.

Editor’s Tip: Refrigeration is essential for this dip, as it allows the flavors to marry.

How to Store Cinnamon Dip

Keep the cinnamon dip in an airtight container and refrigerate it. It should last for up to four days. Just soften it at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving so it’s easier to dip into.

What else can I dip into this cinnamon dip?

You can take advantage of the sweet-salty contrast and dip some salted pretzels into this cinnamon dip for a great balance of flavors. Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, chocolate chip cookies, and fruits like ripe bananas, pears or even strawberries are also great choices. Thinking outside the box, you can thin the cinnamon dip with a little milk and use it as a glaze for homemade scones, apple strudel or stuffed French toast.

Can I use something else besides cream cheese?

Feel free to use mascarpone or ricotta in place of the cream cheese in this recipe—you’ll just want to adjust the amount of sugar accordingly. Other cream cheese substitutes include Neufchatel, Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. Consider using cashew cheese, along with nondairy milk, for a vegan version.

What other flavors can I add to this dip?

Spices that go well with cinnamon include cloves, ginger and allspice. Caramel, chocolate and even coffee are other complementary flavors that can elevate this cinnamon dip.
