You don't have to be a professional bartender or mixologist to whip up this approachable version of the viral creme brulee espresso martini.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons whole milk
- 2 teaspoons caramel syrup
- 1 teaspoon toasted marshmallow syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ESPRESSO MARTINI:
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce brewed espresso, cooled
- 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
- 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup
- Ice cubes
- 3 coffee beans, for garnish (optional)
- CARAMELIZED SUGAR DISK:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
Directions
- Place a martini glass in the freezer to chill.
- In a small jar, combine cream, milk, syrups and vanilla extract. Use a handheld frother to froth ingredients until foamy. Alternatively, seal the jar with a lid; shake vigorously for 1 minute.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur and vanilla syrup. Top with ice; shake until the ingredients are thoroughly chilled and foamy.
- Remove the martini glass from the freezer. Dip the rim in cool water; dip in brown sugar to coat. Strain mixture into the martini glass; slowly top with the creme brûlée cold foam. Garnish with coffee beans, if desired. Serve immediately.
- Optional step: For a fancy finish, make a caramelized sugar disk to float on top of the drink to serve. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside. Combine sugar and water in a small skillet. Cook over high heat (do not stir) until the sugar has melted and caramelized. Carefully pour the mixture onto the parchment paper to form a thin disk. Let cool and harden completely. To use, peel off the parchment paper and float on top of the finished cocktail.
