A strawberry daiquiri with limeade is the ultimate shortcut cocktail. Just whirl everything together in the blender to create a frosty drink that tastes like a vacation.

An easy strawberry daiquiri with limeade proves you don’t need a bar cart full of gadgets to whip up something fabulous. It requires one quick trip to the freezer for frozen strawberries, a can of limeade concentrate and a bag of ice. Toss them in the blender with a splash of rum and, suddenly, you have a frozen cocktail that tastes like you went on vacation without ever leaving the porch.

Where traditional strawberry daiquiri is made with fresh and frozen berries, lime juice and a simple syrup, this shortcut daiquiri skips all the juicing, muddling and mixing fuss, delivering slushy pink perfection in about five minutes flat. My favorite part is that you can crank out a pitcher for friends just as quickly, which means more time sipping and less time stuck in the kitchen.

Ingredients for Strawberry Daiquiris with Limeade

  • Rum: A light or white rum works best here because it keeps the flavor crisp and lets the strawberries shine. Dark or spiced rums can be too overpowering for this fruity drink.
  • Limeade concentrate: An ultimate shortcut ingredient, limeade brings bright lime flavor and just the right amount of sweetness without requiring extra squeezing or stirring. If you have fresh limes, you can make limeade with less water and freeze it.
  • Frozen sweetened strawberries: Frozen fruit gives the daiquiri its luscious pink color, icy texture and berry-sweet punch. Using frozen fruit also means you don’t need to pile on as much ice.
  • Optional garnishes: Fresh strawberries and lime slices look festive and dress up the glass.

Directions

Step 1: Load the blender

In a blender, combine the rum, limeade concentrate, strawberries and ice.

Step 2: Blend up the daiquiris

Cover and process the mixure until it’s smooth and thickened.

Editor’s Tip: Use more ice for thicker daiquiris.

Step 3: Serve and garnish the daiquiris

Pour the mixture into five cocktail glasses and top them with fresh strawberries and lime slices.

Strawberry Daiquiris with Limeade Variations

  • Switch up your fruit: Use frozen peaches or mango instead of strawberries to give these daiquiris a tropical spin.
  • Consider coconut: Use coconut rum instead of white rum for a daiquiri that tastes like a strawberry piña colada.
  • Make it low or no alcohol: For a lighter, less boozy version, replace half the rum with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water. If you want to remove the rum completely, just add a bit more limeade concentrate and top the drinks off with soda water.

Can you use fresh strawberries for easy frozen strawberry daiquiris?

Yes, you can use fresh strawberries for a frozen daiquiri. The texture will be a little thinner, but you can balance it out by tossing in more ice. You can also use half fresh and half frozen berries for a balance of brightness and thickness. Or just plan ahead and throw the fresh fruit in the freezer the night before!

What can you serve with easy strawberry daiquiris with limeade?

These frozen daiquiris love to be paired with summer party food, and are ideal for that end-of-season block party. Try enjoying them with strawberry salsa and tortilla chips, or set them out next to a platter of grilled lime shrimp skewers and fun little taco cups. And if a theme is what you are after, how about these Key lime cookies or Key lime pie bars to finish it off?

When I was in my early 20s, I went on a Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean. I fell for the frozen strawberry daiquiris on board, so I wanted to come up with my own version when I got home. I think this is pretty darned close! —James Schend, Pleasant Prairie, WI
