Toast the arrival of fall with this harvest mezcalita recipe that highlights the harmony between smoky mezcal and sweet apple cider.

Ingredients

  • Lime wedge, for the rim
  • Cinnamon sugar, for the rim
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 ounces apple cider
  • 1-1/2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau
  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • Thin apple slice and cinnamon stick, for garnish

Directions

  1. Rub the edge of a cocktail glass with a lime wedge; dip in cinnamon sugar. Fill the glass with ice.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine apple cider, mezcal, lime juice, Cointreau and maple syrup. Fill with ice. Cover; shake until frosty, 15-20 seconds. Strain into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish with a thin apple slice and cinnamon stick. Serve immediately.
