Herbed Parmesan Bread

Ingredients

  • 3-3/4 cups biscuit/baking mix
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup water

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, 1 cup cheese, Italian seasoning and salt. In a small bowl, whisk egg, milk and water. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Transfer to a greased 8x4-in. loaf pan. Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons cheese.
  2. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
