Made with instant hot cocoa mix and semisweet chocolate chips, this hot chocolate mug cake turns pantry staples into a warm, spoonable treat.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup cold 2% milk
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons instant hot cocoa mix
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips
- Miniature marshmallows and chocolate sauce, for garnish
Directions
- Spray a 16-ounce microwave-safe coffee mug with cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine milk, oil and vanilla extract until combined. Add flour, hot cocoa mix, sugar, baking powder and salt; stir to combine. Pour into prepared mug, sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Microwave on high until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 2-1/2 minutes; mug will be hot. Top with mini marshmallows and chocolate sauce, if desired.
