When you are looking to impress, a mezcal old-fashioned recipe blends smoky mezcal, aged tequila and bitters for a bold, complex riff on the classic cocktail.
Ingredients
- Ice cubes
- 1 ounce Reposado tequila
- 1 ounce mezcal
- 1/4 ounce agave nectar
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 2 dashes chocolate bitters
- Flamed orange peel, for garnish
- Luxardo cherry, for garnish
Directions
- In a large mixing glass filled with ice, add tequila, mezcal, agave nectar and bitters; stir until chilled. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice; swipe the rim of the glass with the orange peel. Garnish with the orange peel and cherry to serve.
