When you are looking to impress, a mezcal old-fashioned recipe blends smoky mezcal, aged tequila and bitters for a bold, complex riff on the classic cocktail.

Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • 1 ounce Reposado tequila
  • 1 ounce mezcal
  • 1/4 ounce agave nectar
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 2 dashes chocolate bitters
  • Flamed orange peel, for garnish
  • Luxardo cherry, for garnish

Directions

  1. In a large mixing glass filled with ice, add tequila, mezcal, agave nectar and bitters; stir until chilled. Strain into an old-fashioned glass over fresh ice; swipe the rim of the glass with the orange peel. Garnish with the orange peel and cherry to serve.
