Onion Cheese Sauce

Yield:1-3/4 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-1/4 cups milk
  • 1-1/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, saute onion in butter. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper until blended. Gradually add the milk.
  2. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until thickened. Reduce heat. Add the cheese; cook and stir until cheese is melted.
