Red Velvet White Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon 2% milk
  • 2 teaspoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup white baking chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in egg, milk, food coloring and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture. Stir in baking chips.
  2. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake until set, 6-8 minutes. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
