2013 Google Nexus 7 tablet gets drop test treatment, dies
Ouch! Watching a tablet (or any other fancy gadget, for that matter) getting tortured like this is surely not a pretty sight. But tests like these are a necessary evil, demonstrating how fragile today's mobile electronic devices can be. Sure enough, the recently launched 2013 Google Nexus 7 was given the drop test treatment as well. The tablet didn't go through it unharmed, as anyone can probably guess.
The sad thing about it is that the second-gen Google Nexus 7 suffered some serious damage right after the first drop. A drop on its back from a height of several feet was enough to render the tablet unusable. Naturally, further drops damaged the Nexus 7 even more, turning its screen into a spiderweb display and cracking the most vulnerable areas of its housing.
