4.3-inch ZTE Tania unveiled, ZTE’s first Windows Phone Mango handset
The ZTE Tania (codename) is the first Windows Phone Mango handset by Chinese phone maker ZTE and it’s definitely got some looks, but does it match it with potent hardware? The ZTE Tania, unveiled at China International Communications Exhibition 2011, lies just around the mid-range of WP devices, so it doesn’t go into dual-core territory, but it’s still got some decent-looking specs.
First on the list is a 4.3-inch WVGA display, while the silicon includes a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4 gigs of internal memory. On the back, there’s a 5-megapixel camera, while everything else is pretty standard - 3G HSPA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and A-GPS.
In July, ZTE has joined the Windows Phone fleet of manufacturers along with Fujitsu and Acer. The Chinese company jumped into the top 5 phone makers for 2010, and this year it has the chance to even widen its share there. Could the Tania paired with an affordable price tag help propel it further up?
