Alcatel One Touch View, company’s first Windows Phone, breaks cover
The Alcatel One Touch View is the company’s first attempt to make a Windows Phone device, and it’s a 4.0-inch phone for the budget-conscious users. The One Touch View is launching with Windows Phone 7.8 on board and will hit retail shelves by the end of the year. We first spotted it yesterday, and now there are more pictures of the device.

Alcatel’s debut phone will carry a price tag of around $250, or even less, which sounds like a good starting point and will put it in direct competition with low-end Android devices, some of which Alcatel itself is making.

Of course at that price, the One Touch View doesn’t impress with specs. It features a 4.0-inch WVGA screen, a Snapdragon S1 chip, the Qualcomm MSM7227А, which is the same one we’ve seen on devices like the Android-based Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. The processor is single-core and clocked at 1GHz and there is 512MB of RAM.

There are two cameras, a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear one and a front snapper. The battery is 1,500mAh and Internal storage is 4GB, and the phone connects to 3G networks and Wi-Fi.

Let’s not forget that Nokia is also said to be readying a budget model, allegedly the Lumia 510 that might come with an even lower price of $150. Seems like Windows Phone is starting to get more competitive at the low end, don’t you think?
