An update for the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book addresses issues that the two devices have been having with the Windows Hello sign-in system after updating to the Redstone builds. Some users of the two mobile devices have found Hello to be working sluggishly, even freezing at times. As a result, the two devices received the update which improves the driver on the Intel CSI2 Host Controller.
The aforementioned controller works with the camera on the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book; after installing the update, users of the two devices say that Windows Hello is working perfectly fine. With Hello, users can sign in to their Windows 10 devices, apps, networks and on-line services using an iris or fingerprint scanner, or by using face recognition.
The update, which is software version 30.10586.7076.2424, is available from Windows Update to Windows insiders using the fast and slow Redstone builds of Windows 10.
