Earlier this month, almost 1 year after it first announced it, Asus finally released the ZenFone Zoom, its very first smartphone to feature a camera with optical zoom (3X optical zoom, to be exact). While for now the handset is available only in Taiwan, Asus' home country, we assume that it'll soon be launched in other markets. That's because Asus today released a global promo video showcasing the smartphone.

Unsurprisingly, the promo video concentrates on the 13 MP rear camera of the handset, and the way in which it's been constructed to keep the device as thin as possible. The camera contains no less than 10 lenses, further featuring Optical Image Stabilization, laser auto focus, and a dual LED flash.

Running Android Lollipop (likely upgradeable to Marshmallow), the Asus ZenFone Zoom comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, LTE connectivity, 4 GB of RAM, microSD card support, and a 3000 mAh battery.

In Taiwan, the Asus ZenFone Zoom can be bought for as low as around $430 (64 GB model with 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 CPU), or around $490 (128 GB model with 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 CPU). Would you be interested in getting this device?
