First official images of Final Fantasy VI for iOS and Android

Back in October we informed you about Square Enix's intention to reissue their classic game Final Fantasy VI. Apparently, the Japanese game developer is working hard to release all of its Final Fantasy games for the popular mobile platforms. However, according to many, FFVI is the best game in the series so far, thus its release is quite anticipated by a lot of gamers.

Well, it looks like Square Enix has decided to tease us a little. They have released the first screenshots from the upcoming mobile version of FF VI. It appears that the graphics of the upcoming iOS/Android title have been slightly tweaked and enhanced in comparison to the original version. The images show smooth, vivid graphics, which are pleasant to the eye, but in fact may look quite odd to some die-hard fans of the series, who are used to the grim, pixelated look of the original SNES version.

Unfortunately, there is no offical info about the release date yet. Rumor has it, that the iOS and Android versions should be out by the end of the year, but we wouldn't count on that, because Square Enix is famous for taking its time.
