Garmin's latest MARQ Commander smartwatch includes Stealth Mode and Kill Switch
Garmin's smartwatches are one step higher than Fossil and Fitbit when it comes to price. Most of them are considered premium products, so they carry premium prices. The latest Fenix 6 smartwatches are quite expensive, but Garmin is pushing the term “premium” beyond its Fenix 6 lineup.
The new MARQ Commander smartwatch costs at least $1,950, but there are multiple reasons for the high price. First off, the smartwatch features a diamond-like carbon-coated titanium case and a display protected by sapphire crystal.
Interestingly enough, the wearable device comes with something called Stealth Mode, a feature the turns off all connectivity with the outside world turning the user into a “ghost.” That means no GPS position sharing, no wireless connectivity or communication whatsoever.
A so-called Kill Switch will also clear all data stored in the memory at a press of a button. The presentation of the smartwatch sounds like it's been specifically made for the military or army personnel.
