Google may out a $79 Daydream VR headset today, made by HTC

Back in the spring, Google took the wraps off its virtual reality concept for the future, called Daydream. There is already a Daydream storefront with apps and games, and a Daydream VR headgear is about to be unveiled today. This one is reportedly going to be produced by HTC, the maker of the Vive virtual reality platform, and is alleged to cost $79, not bad for a quality VR contraption.

The Daydream concept is not a simple VR cardboard, but a holistic undertaking this time, encompassing certified phones with sensors and power that can carry virtual reality rendering, as well as an app and game store and the $79 Daydream VR headgear in question. Google will undoubtedly demonstrate the new Daydream products today, so stay tuned come 9am Pacific for our coverage of the virtual feasts.
