Google won't sell Nexus One to Verizon customers; suggests buying Droid Incredible instead
With both phones practically the same, Google has decided that selling the Nexus One to Verizon customers would be a waste of time and effort and is telling Big Red's customers to go ahead and order the HTC Droid Incredible instead. On Google's Nexus One blog, it says, "In the U.S., if you've been waiting for the Nexus One on Verizon Wireless' network, head over to http://phones.verizonwireless.com/htc/incredible to pre-order the Droid Incredible." Both the N-One and the Incredible have similar features although the latter device has the edge when it comes to specs with an 8MP camera vs. 5MP for the Nexus One. A newly discovered difference involves the use of newer and better technology for multitouch sensors on the Droid Incredible vs. older sensors that are deployed on the N-One. The latter uses a positively medieval trackball while the former uses an optical track pad. The HTC Droid Incredible can be pre-ordered through Verizon with an April 29th launch date. The phone will set you back $199.99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate and of course, your signature on a 2 year contract.  As we told you last week, some lucky buyers have received their handset early.
