HTC 10 and LG G Pad X 8.0 start receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update at T-Mobile

HTC delivered Android 7.0 Nougat update to its flagship smartphone back in November, but only unlocked versions were eligible for the upgrade. The Taiwanese company confirmed carrier-branded HTC 10 units will start receiving the update in early 2017.

Well, it looks like T-Mobile is among the first carriers in the United States to offer the Android 7.0 Nougat update to HTC 10 users. Although the phone's software update page hasn't been refreshed to confirm the rollout, many HTC 10 owners report they have successfully captured the update.

If you own the T-Mobile HTC 10, then you should check for the update by heading to Settings / About / Software updates / Check Now. It's worth noting that this is fairly sizable update, weighing in at 1.22GB, so make sure you have enough storage before attempting to download it.

In the same piece of news, another device sold by T-Mobile, the LG G Pad X 8.0 seems to be eligible for a similar update as well.

However, for the time being, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for LG's tablet is only available via LG Bridge desktop software. Even so, it appears that only a small percentage of users are getting the update, which suggests that a wider rollout should begin in the next couple of days.
