HTC Wildfire S Dummy models start showing up at T-Mobile stores

The low-end HTC Wildfire S is set to launch from T-Mobile on August 3rd and the dummy units are beginning to make their way to the carrier's stores. For $79.99 and a 2 year signed contract, the Wildfire S is equipped with a 3.2 inch display with resolution of 320 x 480, a 5MP camera and 512MB or RAM/ROM. Despite the penny pinching specs, Android 2.3 is aboard.

As we previously reported, the HTC Wildfire S was codenamed the HTC Marvel back when it made its visit to the FCC. Even back then it was obvious that this was not going to be a highly spec'd model. If the latter is what you are seeking, there is the HTC Sensation 4G or the free T-Mobile G2x (with a signed 2 year contract, of course).
