In what may be a surprising news story, Samsung actually announced that one of the first commercially available LTE-enabled handsets will be available with no other carrier but MetroPCS. The Samsung SCH-r900 will take advantage of the carrier's soon-to-be deployed 4G network, which will first cover a number of metropolitan areas in the second half of the year. No other information or images of the Samsung r900 are available as of now, except for the fact that it will also be able to use the MetroPCS CDMA network, but we promise to keep you posted.
UPDATE:SlashGear has shared a picture of an unannounced Samsung LTE device showcased at CTIA 2009. Could this be the Samsung r900? Time will tell...
