Lenovo's affordable ZUK brand outs its first promo video, and it's pretty terrible
The Lenovo-backed venture ZUK is the firm that wants to be the next disruption in the Chinese mobile industry, after brands like Xiaomi and Meizu did it with success, while second-tier ones like Umi or Elephone are following in their footsteps. Lenovo fronted the startup with quite a lot of cash, wanting to move the focus from hardware to software with the new brand. In fact, out of 400 ZUK employees, 350 are dedicated to the development of the company's custom Android ROM and interface overlay, as well as the accompanying services.

Watch out, Xiaomi and MIUI? Well, the ZUK Z1 flagship is shaping up to be great value for the money, and we don't know about the ZUK user interface, but when it comes to marketing, the new company has a long way to go. Here's the first promo video meant to increase the brand awareness below, tell us what you think about it. Wouldn't it be better if they just said "we are a going to release a phone with 5.5" 1080p display, 3 GB of RAM, and 4000 mAh battery for less than $300?"
