Meizu MX4 Pro could feature a fingerprint scanner, should be launched on October 28

Meizu released its MX4 smartphone last month, and it looks like an upgraded version of the handset is already on its way. Allegedly called Meizu MX4 Pro, the new smartphone could be officially launched on October 28 - according to sources from China.

While the MX4 Pro is expected to have a 5.4-inch display, just like the MX4, it’s said that its resolution has been increased from 1152 x 1920 to 1536 x 2560 pixels. Furthermore, the new Meizu handset should feature a fingerprint scanner embedded into its home button, and an octa-core Exynos 5430 processor (replacing the octa-core MediaTek CPU that’s powering the MX4). Other features reportedly include at least 3 GB of RAM, Hi-Fi audio, a 13 MP front-facing camera, and a 20 MP rear camera. On the software side, the MX4 Pro should come with Meizu’s own Flyme 4.0 UI and Android KitKat. The smartphone may cost 2,499 CNY (about $408) in China.

Since the Meizu MX4 can be ordered internationally, the MX4 Pro might also be available to buy around the world - although, of course, you’ll still have to wait for it to be shipped from China.

P.S.: it's not clear if the image above shows the MX4 Pro, or the current MX4 model.
