Microsoft reveals new features coming to OneDrive and Office mobile apps in November
New features are coming to OneDrive and Office apps on Android and iOS platforms, Microsoft announced earlier this week. Many of the improvements will be available on both operating systems, while others will be specifically released on Android or iOS.

First off, the Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps on Android and iOS will now use the common sharing dialog. The new feature that will be made available on both mobile platforms will allow users to share documents with friends an colleagues much easier.

On the other hand, OneDrive will receive a new Mobile Capture functionality, which enables Android and iOS users to scan documents, whiteboards, images from the field, as well as visit a site using the app.

Moreover, the functionality comes with the option to add custom metadata to anything that a user scans with the OneDrive mobile app. Both the image and metadata will be added to the selected library at the same time.

Finally, a new message will soon prompt OneDrive users to share the scan with a meeting's invitees. The meeting note sharing feature is made possible via Microsoft Graph, which connects files, scans, meetings and more together. OneDrive users should start seeing this prompt this month on both Android and iOS platforms.
