Nokia N97 gets a new firmware update
Nokia N97 owners around the world should check out the latest 2.1 software update available through the Nokia Software Updater. It’s available starting today with support for unlocked and carrier specific versions – the 2.1 release offers additional improvements to the 2.0 release offered last year. Unfortunately it won’t be an over-the-air process at first and will require you to connect it though the Nokia Software Updater – the FOTA packages are larger than normal (around 17MB) and will be slightly delayed to allow sufficient testing. It’s not essential to perform a backup before applying the update, although we encourage you to do so either way in case of any catastrophic event happening during the installation process. However, it is recommended to reset your device by pressing *#7370# and enter your lock code after the update is complete. With the latest 2.1 release, expect to find many fixes and improvements – such as improved call reliability, smooth touchscreen scrolling, browser improvements, image and video stability, and music player improvements.
