Pictures found on Google Plus hint at Samsung Galaxy Camera sequel with 20.2MP shooter

A trio of pictures found on Google Plus suggest that Samsung is going to release a sequel to the Android flavored Samsung Galaxy Camera this year. The model number of the camera used to snap the three pictures is EK-GN120, compared to the Samsung Galaxy Camera's EK-GC100. The pictures also revealed that the camera on the device will weigh in at 20.2MP. This happens to be the same as the camera used on the Samsung NX-300. The original version of the Samsung Galaxy Camera included a 16.2MP snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera belongs to a group of devices known as connected cameras. These are cameras with Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity that can upload pictures to your social networks or the cloud. The Samsung Galaxy Camera is available as a Wi-Fi only model and there is also a version with 3G connectivity. And while there is no guarantee that Samsung will announce the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2, considering the leaked photos, who knows? Perhaps this will be a surprise unveiling at the June 20th Samsung Premiere event.
