Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime gets official, features a wide-angle camera for group selfies
Samsung today officially introduced the Galaxy Grand Prime (model number SM-G530H), a new and relatively affordable Android handset that was first spotted in Vietnam a few weeks ago.

The Grand Prime comes with a 5 MP wide-angle front-facing camera that’s “best-suited to capture” group selfies - or groupfies, as Samsung is calling them. On the back, the handset has an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording.

Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the Galaxy Grand Prime further features a 5-inch display with 540 x 960 pixels, 3G connectivity, quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable internal memory. The smartphone measures 144.8 x 72.1 x 8.6 mm, weighs 156 grams, and comes with a 2600 mAh battery.

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is available starting this week in India, where it costs around $250. The handset will probably be released in more countries in the near future.

The Grand Prime is the latest among a new breed of smartphones which offer front-facing cameras that are optimized for taking perfect selfies - or groupfies, or wefies, or usies (yep, these are all terms used to described group selfies).
