Samsung confirms Android Nougat arrives for Galaxy S7/S7 edge in January, 2017

Great news for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners, as Samsung has just confirmed that the long-awaited Android Nougat update for these two devices will be released next month.

After a month of beta testing, the South Korean company announced that it would do its best “to distribute the official version in January as soon as possible.”

Moreover, Samsung announced that the Android Nougat beta program for both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge devices will end on January 30, 2016. This means there will be no beta versions released for these smartphones and there will be no individual feedback related to “Error report” and “Suggestion.”

According to Samsung, all feedback received by the time the final version will be released is to be managed via “Community” only.

We expect Samsung to release Android 7.1.1 Nougat for many Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge devices in January, 2017, but many of them will receive Android 7.0 Nougat instead.

Some carriers have confirmed they are now testing Android 7.0 Nougat builds, but that doesn't meant that Android 7.1.1 won't arrive for both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge at a later date. So, there you have it folks, Samsung will finally have two smartphones of it own running Android Nougat by the end of January.
