Teaser confirms side power button for the Meizu m1 note 2 and a June 2nd unveiling
A few days ago, we showed you a picture of a phone that looked like the Meizu m1 note with one big change. Instead of having the power button located on top where it is a stretch to reach, the power button on this model was on the side. In fact, with a placement under the volume rocker, the power button was in a very reachable location on this handset.

With a June 2nd media event planned, we theorized that this was the Meizu m1 note 2, which is expeced to be unveiled at the event. On Tuesday, Chinese online retailer JD.com confirmed that the m1 note 2 would be announced on June 2nd. You don't have to have a piano fall on your head to understand that this is the sequel to the 5.5-inch m1 note.

On Thursday, Meizu released a teaser on its Weibo page that shows the date of June 2nd along with the transparent image of a phone. The outline of the handset shows the placement of the power button exactly where it is on the picture of the m1 note 2 that started this controversy. So putting it all together, we expect to see the latter handset unwrapped next Tuesday. Among the new features should be an easier to reach power button.

The only negative that we have to pass along is that a rumored fingerprint scanner is not on the unit. Earlier, sources did say that such a feature was found embedded on the oval home button on the front of the device. Yes, there is a lesson to be learned here. Sometimes a home button is just a home button.
