The Galaxy A8 (2016) could be the next Samsung phone to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update

Samsung has already refreshed its Galaxy A series with new smartphones, but some of the older models will continue to be supported for at least one more year.

One of the most powerful Galaxy A series handset, the Galaxy A8 (2016) is likely to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat very soon. Unveiled back in September, the smartphone made its debut on the market one month later with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board.

Now, it looks like Samsung has started testing Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy A8 (2016). A unit running the new version of the OS has been recently listed at GFXBench, which suggests the Galaxy A8 (2016) will be the next Samsung smartphone to receive Android 7.0 Nougat.

Samsung has already rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat updates for the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S6 and all its variations, as well as Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Tab S2. Sadly, none of last year's Galaxy A smartphones receive the update until now.
