The Galaxy J2 might be Samsung's first smartphone powered by an Exynos 3475 processor

The Galaxy J2 is an unannounced device that could be officially revealed in the near future as a new member of Samsung's Galaxy J series of Android smartphones (which currently includes the Galaxy J1, Galaxy J5, and Galaxy J7).

As previously reported, the Galaxy J2 (model number SM-J200F) is an entry-level device, though its features are a bit more exciting than those of the J1 (pictured above). According to SamMobile, the J2 is powered by a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Since the Exynos 3475 hasn't been announced by Samsung, the J2 might become the world's first handset to use this processor.

Besides the new CPU, the Galaxy J2 allegedly features a 4.5-inch TFT display with 480 x 800 pixels, a 2 MP front-facing camera, a 5 MP rear camera, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 8 GB of expandable storage space. Measuring 136 x 69 x 8.3 mm, the J2 reportedly includes a 2000 mAh battery.

It's said that the Galaxy J2 will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at launch, but for now we don't know exactly when Samsung intends to start selling the handset.
