Unknown reasons have reportedly delayed the official Android O rollout

13comments

According to a new piece of information that is floating around, Android O will get delayed due to unknown reasons, which most likely involve a ton of ironing out bugs and issues. Coming straight from Android Police's David Ruddock, this unconfirmed new rumor basically implies that we wouldn't see Android O get officially seeded to Pixel devices in mid-August, possibly this or next week, which was the public's general expectation.

So, when is Android O bound to become official?

A tough question. With zero insider information and such unexpected delays in tow, it's rather hard to come up with a viable prediction for a software update's release. Truth is, Android O can become official at any time, as Google is quite unlikely to host a surprising keynote just to inform all the Android connoisseurs that Android Oreo/Oatmeal is now out. It's also unlikely that we will have to wait until October/November and see the next version of Android become officially official alongside El Goog's next Pixels.
