Verizon rep confirms March 12th launch online for Nexus 6, in stores March 19th

While there has been talk of a March 12th launch of the Nexus 6 on Verizon (with VoLTE we might add), the nation's largest carrier has been pretty mum about this with nothing official being released. One of our loyal readers has a Verizon upgrade burning a hole in his pocket and was visiting the site when he was asked if he wanted to chat with a rep.

After replying in the affirmative, our source decided to ask the rep about the Nexus 6 he has been thinking about purchasing. The rep, listed as Beth M., revealed that the stock Android phablet will be launched online on March 12th, followed a week later by availability in Verizon stores. That is March 19th for those too excited to calculate correctly.

The Motorola built Nexus 6 features a 6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. The pixel density works out to 493pi. Under the hood is a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 CPU with the Adreno 420 GPU handling graphics. 3GB of RAM is on board and there is 32GB/64GB of native storage. No microSD slot is available on the device. A 13MP camera, with an aperture of f/2.0, is on back. The front-facing snapper is 2MP and a 3220mAh keeps the lights on. Android 5.0 is pre-installed.

Just a few days ago, we reported exclusively about marketing material for the Nexus 6 arriving at a Verizon retail location. Now, it looks like we might know exactly when the phablet will be available to Verizon customers. Mark your calendars accordingly!

Thanks for the tip!
