ViewSonic V430 steps up to the plate with Froyo and a 4.3" display - coming to Russia first

Of late, ViewSonic has been kicking up the gear when it comes to their Android powered tablet lineup, but they’ve been relatively quiet in the smartphone realm. Well, that’s about to change as the company announced today its third Android powered smartphone – the ViewSonic V430.

Following after the ViewPad 4 and the V350, which were rather low-key in character, the ViewSonic V430 steps up to the plate flaunting a significantly larger 4.3” WVGA display. At first, it would seem that this might be a high-end smartphone of some sort from their camp, but after looking over its other hardware specs, it’s mainly going to find itself in the mid-range category.

Specifically, it features a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, front-facing VGA camera, 512MB or RAM & ROM, 3G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Sadly, for a newer device, it’s resorting to sticking it out with the older Android 2.2 Froyo build – though, it spruces things up with ViewSonic’s ViewScene 3D interface.

So far, there is no word regarding pricing, but what’s known is that it’ll be making a landing in Russia first before any other place.
