Vivo to officially announce the 4.75mm-thin X5 Max (the world's thinnest smartphone) next month
Not long ago, we told you about the Vivo X5 Max, a new handset that measures only 4.75 mm, thus being a hair thinner than the 4.85 mm Oppo R5 - which is currently recognized as the thinnest smartphone in the world. Vivo is now officially confirming the existence of the X5 Max, and it posted a teaser image to let us know that the handset will be announced in the near future - apparently in December, according to recent rumors.

The teaser image doesn’t really reveal much, only mentioning the device’s name, and something about “thin heartstrings” in Chinese. Even so, we already know quite a lot about the Vivo X5 Max. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels, and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It’s got LTE connectivity, an octa-core 1.7 GHz processor that’s likely made by MediaTek, 2 GB of RAM, a 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 13 MP rear camera. The handset appears to be made out of metal - or at least that’s what the photos that we’ve seen until now (included below) are suggesting.

Vivo usually launches its smartphones only in China, but this doesn’t necessarily mean the X5 Max won’t be available to order internationally. We’ll let you know more when the smartphone is finally announced.
