WSJ says Google is to unveil Android Jelly Bean with Siri competitor at the I/O conference

WSJ chipped in with its own sources what's in store for Google's I/O conference that starts today, and which traditionally sees a new version of Android unveiled, along with some new devices.

Besides a $199 Nexus tablet made by Asus, which is all but certain by now, the WSJ confirms that the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will feature a "voice-activated assistant, similar to Apple's Siri", which we may have heard about as the Majel project.

Google is also reported to give some good news for developers regarding G+ and Wallet, allowing them to build their own apps on top of its social networking and mobile payment services.

As for devices, besides the cheapo Nexus tablet, the gang from Mountain View is expected to unveil that elusive home entertainment device, which can stream music wirelessly to your home stereo and eventually web video to your TV, which would be a pretty interesting competition to Apple's hockey puck, especially if you can manage it with your Android device. The streaming gizmo is said to sell through various electronics retailers and in Google's online store.
