Not terribly much is known about the HTC Desire. We do know that it appeared on a screenshot of what looks to be Big Red's inventory system. We also know that the device is supposed to be powered by Android and branded as a Google handset, which most likely means no Sense UI on top of the OS. We also have a model number for the phone, the ADR (probably code for Android) 6200. The Desire has just been given the "thumbs up" by the FCC and has received Wi-Fi certification by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Another device heading for Verizon with Google's open source OS is the Motorola Sholes aka Tao. This phone, as we just reported, also made it past the Feds the other day. Like the Desire, there is not much known about Motorola's handset as we eagerly await the introduction of the highly anticipated model.
